I can't install the msi on my system:
Vista 64 bit enterprise english,
VS2008 sp1 english.

There is a problem with this windows installer package.
A program run as part of the setup dod not finish as expected.

If you use "using" statements inside the namespace declaration the SO windows hangs with "Updating, please wait...".
This simple code fails:

namespace TestSO
{
using System;

public class Class1
{
}
}

Moving the using statments outside the namespace "fixes" it.

After following StyleCop code formatting rules this is the only reason why I cannot use the Source Code Outliner Power Toy anymore :-(

I just installed Source Outliner on Visual Studio 2008 SP1, and when I open a source CPP file, then view the source outliner window, it is empty, and the controls (and all other text) appears in a disabled state (greyed-out).

Just got this plugin for 2008, used it a lot in 2005. I'm in the same boat as mentioned above: our new coding standards in our 2008 project require the using statements be set up in the way that breaks Source Outliner.

If you have DebugView running (I always have) then as soon as a project-properties-page has focus I get 2-3 exception messages per second in DebugView:

[3300] Error: FDoIdle exception: System.ArgumentException: Value does not fall within the expected range.
[3300] at EnvDTE._DTE.get_ActiveDocument()
[3300] at Microsoft.Samples.VisualStudio.PowerToy.SourceOutliner.SourceOutlineToolWindow.FDoIdle(UInt32 grfidlef)

It stops as soon as a normal CS document gets focus.

The control seems to trigger a full repaint of the IDE which in turns causes the Intellisense drop down to "go away." This happens in a project of any size.

In a VB code module for a form, type:
Protected Overrides
-- a drop down appears. If you keep typing to find the method you want the whole IDE refreshes and the dropdown disappears.

This is a "dealkiller" sort of bug.

A workaround to this (not beautiful, but it does work).
Set filter to zzzzzz and it won't try to refresh. Then clear the filter when you want to use it.
Still a pain, but it at least makes it usable. Clearly the refresh logic needs some work - should have a keystroke timer on the refresh logic so it waits for about 3 seconds before refreshing if typing is ocurring.

It would be great if the source outliner has a sorting feature for the class members. I like the sorting of the class designer - maybe you could implement the something similar.

I don't know how this could be marked as anything other than high. When this situation occurs, the power toy is simply unusable. That sounds like a "high" to me. It most commonly occurs on designer generated code, so even the relatively simple work-around of moving the using statements outside the namespace declaration isn't an option. Unusable plus no (useable) work-around doesn't justify the current impact status of "low".

I second that. Our team coding standard requires the using statements to be inside the namespace, so until this is fixed I cannot use it.

When you declare a constant the Source outliner shows this a normal field. It would be nice if a different icon is used (like in the class view)

This also kills method rename refactoring if you pause long enough for it to refresh the screen.
